This site is fully static, with no backend of its own beyond a self-hosted, cookie-free analytics tool. There's no advertising, and no cookies other than a purely technical storage of your language choice in the browser.
When you visit this site, the hosting provider automatically records information your browser sends: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system. This data is used solely for technical delivery and security of the website, is not combined with any other data source, and is deleted automatically after a short time.
This site uses GoatCounter, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool that I run myself on my own server - no data is sent to Google, Meta, or any other third party. GoatCounter doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you individually: visits are counted using a salted, one-way hash of your IP address and browser that's rotated daily, so your visit can't be linked back to you or followed across days. It records the page you visited, the referring site (if any), your browser and screen size, and country (derived from your IP address, which is then discarded) - never your full IP address or exact location.
Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in understanding how the site is used, weighed against your privacy - which is why no cookies or personal profiling are involved.
If you manually switch between German and English, your browser remembers that choice locally (`localStorage`) - no data is sent to a server, and the information never leaves your browser.
The demo video is embedded via YouTube's privacy-enhanced "youtube-nocookie.com" domain, which reduces (but per Google's own documentation doesn't fully eliminate) tracking compared to a standard YouTube embed. Loading this page loads the player directly from Google's servers; Google's own privacy policy applies to that connection and to your interaction with the player.
This site links to external services (GitHub, Ko-fi). Clicking one of those links takes you off this website; that provider's own privacy policy then applies. Simply visiting this page does not send any data to GitHub or Ko-fi.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and restrict processing of your personal data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Since this site doesn't process personal data beyond what's technically necessary to serve the pages, there's unlikely to be much to act on in practice - reach out by email with any questions.
